           Standard commercial leases are 3 to even 5 or 10 year leases. That’s a big commitment if you are just starting of in business. You need to get proof that your business can be open that long. So when looking at the lease terms ideally, when you’re first starting out look for spaces available for month to month, six months or even one year leases.

            When the movement Black Lives Matter exploded after the passing of George Floyd, I felt ashamed that I did not know or question myself about my roots, my African heritage and being black in general.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;

          That year I promised to educate myself and people around me about diversity, black history, and openness. I strive to use my voice and platform to inspire and help black female entrepreneurs in the beauty industry by teaching them Branding, Marketing and Business strateg

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Up until recently, black cosmetics consisted of skin lighteners and skin bleach and limited shade ranges.

  &lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h4&gt;&#xD;

           Black consumers are eager for better-suited services and products. Over the past decade, they have progressively switched from available products to those that specifically cater to them.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;

           From hair care, cosmetics, and skincare to health services, black consumers show that they want a more customized and personalized service in every sphere, not only beauty.

           Did you promise yourself that 2022 would be the year you create content every day or grow your social media platform by 1k a week but had been MIA for weeks (or months) at the end of 2021?

In the past, I set resolutions such as cutting my spending by 50% or booking 3-4 networking events per week to attend and then got frustrated that I couldn’t stick with them. Not because I was lazy or unmotivated but simply because it was unrealistic.

           Since 2017, I changed my approach to New Year Resolutions. Instead of BIG BOLD changes, I decided to focus on three words that would lead my action and life for the next 12 months. I remember the three words were

           Organize, Structure, and Management

            To actually achieve my resolution, I had set much smaller micro-goals that were ultra-specific and realistic. For example, if you want to be more active on social media, one micro-goal might be to start engaging with other accounts 10 min every day. That specialization helped create trust as beauty business entrepreneurs know that I'm not only a marketer but also a beauty expert all around. I could tell you the price, the time and the resources needed for any beauty services/products off the top of my head. When you have this type of advantage and can save your client time - you HAVE positioned yourself clearly as the go-to person!
